Beau, ( the Shire Draft horse pictured above)was rescued in the winter of 2000 along with his barn mate Silver 30 miles from the Canadian border. Sadly Silver, the 18 year old draft horse did not survive and died at a vet clinic 24 hours later. All those looking at the condition of Beau knew their work would be cut out for them. To nurse and rehabilitate this young 4 year old Shire stallion, Janet the proprietor of Rockin'T along with her husband, Andy and their daughter Tammy all pitched in throughout the long months ahead to treat and cure Beau's severe mite infestation and infection on all four of his legs up to his knees. After Beau was gelded it would be nearly a year by the time a  farrier was able to trim down his over grown feet to a normal length and for Beau to regain a normal weight and shine to his coat. Sadly it took much longer to regain his trust, nearly 2 years would pass before Beau fully realized that Rockin'T's motto of "every horse rescued would no longer face abuse, starvation and neglect" was really true. When I first met Beau nearly 4 years ago I had fell in love with his noble stance even then with his pathetic shaved legs, snarled long mane and thin frame. To see him today you would not believe he is the same horse with his shiny coat, long free flowing mane and full gorgeous white and black feathers surrounding his legs. He now trusts his benefactors to brush his long mane and does not flinch when a hand reaches out to stroke his face or nose and eagerly runs out of his stall into his turn out to greet you when you call his name. This is a happy ending and only one of the stories of the 38+ horses and ponies who currently reside at Rockin'T Farm, if you would like more information about the farm please contact Janet Tuttle @ 207-353-6581 or email : jtuttle790@aol.com  Thank you,
